100,000 surgical gloves donated by association Others

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia-China Friendship Association (PPMC) has donated 100,000 units of surgical gloves for the use in the epicentre of the novel coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan in Hubei province, China.
Association president Datuk Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan expressed his sympathy to the people in China, particularly in Wuhan, who are facing challenges following the outbreak.
He handed over the items that will be forwarded to the Hubei Charity Federation at PPMC’s headquarters yesterday.
Abdul Majid said PPMC members were pleased to be able to make a modest contribution to ease the challenges posed by the coronavirus outbreak.
He added that the assistance was part of a demonstration of its concern and friendship towards the people of China.
“We wish to convey our sincere sympathy to all our friends in China for the current difficulties they are facing now, ” he added.
He expressed optimism with the strong measures taken by the Chinese government to combat the respiratory outbreak.
Abdul Majid also hoped that the situation would be brought under control and that life would return to normal soonest.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced that Malaysia would be helping China by donating food, gloves and face masks, which are currently in demand in Wuhan.
Wuhan and its people are currently under a travel lockdown imposed by the China government.
